Here’s an old time recipe that’s been handed down and now a family favorite in my home. Everyone loves this wonderful, home-style dish for Old Fashioned Slow Cooker Corned Beef. Grab your slow cooker and get started, you’ll be so happy you made this wonderful meal.
When this homestyle recipe is cooking away in the slow cooker, the house smells divine and everyone is just waiting for this to be served.
This simple and easy version of corned beef is made with a handful of basic ingredients for a rich tasting meal in one.
Everything you want is in the slow cooker. Just plate up and serve when done.
No need to add any other side dish. This is enjoyed year round in my house.
One thing is for sure, I always have enough crusty bread on the table so we can all dip into any of the drippings.

Old Fashioned Slow Cooker Corned Beef
Yields: about 6 to 8 servings

Simple Everyday Ingredients To Deliciousness:
- corned beef brisket
- baby carrots
- small baby potatoes
- medium onion, cut into chunks
- whole cabbage head, cut into large chunks
- beef broth, low sodium if possible
- Worcestershire sauce
- ground pepper
- sea or kosher salt
- garlic powder or 2 fresh garlic cloves, crushed
- turmeric, this is optional

Directions:
- Rinse meat with cold water, trim off any excess fat. Remove seasoning packet (It’s not used in this recipe), set meat aside for just a minute.
- Layer carrots and cut up onion on the bottom of slow cooker. Then, add the potatoes around the edge of the slow cooker. See photo above.
- Place meat fat side up on top of vegetables. Pour in beef stock. Add in garlic powder or crushed garlic along with salt, pepper and turmeric if using.
- Cook on low 8 to 9 hours. After 7 hours, add in the cut up cabbage. Check and see if you need to add a drop more stock or water. Cook the additional time remaining. Check at 8 hours. If the meat does seem to be tender enough, cook another half hour and check again. You’ll know if the meat is tender enough. It will be very tender. And, easy to slice up.
- When meat is ready, slice up against the grain. Time to plate up! Decorate the serving plate with all the veggies. Enjoy this delicious home-style recipe!
